2012 Mercedes Benz SL550 Grand Edition Hardtop Convertible. One of 600 in the world and one of only 35 in Canada. The special edition was to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of Karl Benz inventing the automobile! This one is rare and spectacular with low kms and in immaculate condition. No scratches on the wheels (we mean none!) and perfect flawless factory original paint. We would put money on the line to bet this is the nicest one in the country. Zero rock chips, scratches or any other cosmetic concers. It’s lived a charmed life too, sold new in Quebec, but soon after moved to Alberta where it received the best attention, always stored inside in a climate-controlled garage, owned by a family who has a large car collection, and serviced at the local Mercedes Benz dealership for all work required. A large stack of service records come with the car. Replacement batteries are Mercedes branded, and even the tires (second set in its lifetime installed 2 years ago) are specific Perelli P Zero’s that were designed and engineered for Mercedes cars. They were installed at the Benz dealer service center. The previous owner just spent over $4,000 on paint correction and ceramic coating. The headlights are perfectly clear and free of hazing and the paint is incredible. The interior condition is just as nice, with absolutely zero wear and tear on the leather seats, upholstery or any where else. We’re serious when we say that this is in brand new condition concours condition. What’s even more incredible is that the car has 57,000 kms on it. Not much really, but you’d swear it is 5,700! The SL 550 is an incredibly well-equipped car, but the Grand Edition adds exclusive features such as the Designo Crystal Silver exterior paint, titanium-colored 19” AMG wheels and unique Chrome and silver accents and badging (removed but included). The interior of the Grand edition has specific Designo Classic Red leather, full leather dashboard, SLR-designed shift knob with hidden engine start button, Prism pattern aluminum trim and suede headliner. All Grand Editions are retractable hardtops with panoramic glass skylight, Air-scarf neck heating, heated and ventilated, massaging dynamic power seats with 3-position memory and 12-way power functions, all come with command navigation, Harmon Kardon sound systems, Parktronic and Distronic (adaptive) cruise control and Active body control sport suspension. That’s all on top of the very long list of other luxury items in the car including dual zone automatic climate control, Bi-Zenon projector beam headlights with headlight washers, parking sensors, rear back up camera, power folding mirrors, power folding rollover/styling bar, and deep-pile luxury cars. The full owner’s manual package in leather case is in the glove box, the engine bay is sparkling clean. Powering the SL550 is a 5.5 liter naturally aspirated DOCH V8 making 382 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. This all motivates the Mercedes from 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds. The car runs smoothly and drives like its brand new. Stowed below the trunk floor is a Mercedes emergency kit, compact spare with inflator that have never been used. The trunk is power opening, top up or top down, all part of the power top mechanism. This is the kind of car that with proper maintenance and protection can be the perfect grand touring car, and an investment that will surely increase in value as time goes on thanks to it’s rarity and incredible condition.
