1997 Ford F-250 Heavy Duty Ext Cab, Long Box, 2WD. This is an example of just how long a truck can last when it’s Built Ford Tough and well taken car of! You’re looking at a truck that’s about to turn 30 years old but still rust free, wearing its original paint and with a flawless original interior. The story goes that this truck has spent its years inside, out of the sunshine. There’s no signs of sun damage. It was used to haul a truck camper, and then later a 5^th wheel trailer to Southern US states as snowbird holiday rig, and didn’t do too much else. Owned by a single man it’s entire life, and word is, that the truck has only had a person in the passenger seat a hand full of times. The owner had 2 other trucks for daily use. Just 193,000 kms in 30 years. A bit of minor scale on the bottom of the truck, but overall, very clean, even on the underside. Factory paint is all still very nice on this, with only a few minor scrapes and scratches. It’s almost showroom condition honestly. It’s also well equipped with alloy mag wheels, sliding rear window, moulded side steps, front bug shield, side mouldings, bed rail guards, mudflaps, chrome bumpers front and rear and two-tone cherry red and dark silver paint scheme. It’s an extended cab, but this is the last year of this body style, and the opening ¼ doors hadn’t come out yet. Inside, the gray interior is like new with no rips, tears or cuts in the fabric and upholstery, and no cracked or broken interior plastic pieces, or dashboard or door panels, which suggests long term sun protection. It’s also extremely clean, and even the carpets are stain-free. The owner’s manual package is in the glove box. The rear seats also fold over to make a storage deck, but it looks like that feature’s never been used. The headliner is perfect and has not come down at all. The truck has dual fuel tanks, full gauges with tachometer, cruise control, tilt wheel, trailer brake controller, AM/FM/Cassette stereo and A/C. The ashtray has never been used and honestly the truck smells like new. Under the hood is Ford’s monster 460 V8 with fuel injection, power steering and power disc brakes. Besides the K&N filter it appears to be all stock and well maintained. If you’re looking for your next summer tow rig, this would haul a house and could do it with some style! Show the young kids just how good we had it back in the 90’s! We think it could be the perfect truck for camper hauling for years to come!
