1986 Chrysler Daytona Turbo Z Carol Shelby - SK Car, Low Kms!
$ 14,990
1986 Chrysler Daytona Turbo Z Carol Shelby. Ultimately rare and a Saskatchewan car to boot! Turbocharged 2.2-liter inline 4cylinder with overhead cam, multi-port fuel injection and a fresh timing belt and drive belts. 5-speed manual transmission and a very original car. Still wearing factory paint and unrestored! The car had been garage kept and sitting since it was put away in 2003. The owner, now in his 90’s decided it was time to sell the car, so in late 2025 and early 2026 the car was pulled out, gone through and cleaned up! Recent work includes new rad hoses and heater hoses, new water pump, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, a new set of tires onto the very hard to find Shelby wheels, and new front brakes and rotors. New shocks, new gas tank, fuel sender and fuel pump also went into it. Lastly all the fluids were replaced after sitting so long. A couple bumps and bruises here or there, but the condition is remarkable. The garage it was stored in was dark, dry and mouse-proof, so the car is rust free and very nice. Overall, paint is very good, but the factory wheels, while very rare, could use refinishing. The interior is spectacular. Bucket seats with high side bolsters and inflatable lumbar support are very comfortable. The back seat is interesting because it’s also a pair of bucket seats, and back passengers have their own sunshades too! The car was sold new at Crestview Chrysler in Regina and came equipped with cruise control, tilt wheel, digital clock, digital tuning AM/FM cassette stereo with graphic equalizer, rear defrost, and rear wiper. The car has manual locks, manual windows and does not have A/C. The boost gauge on the center stack is fun to watch, and the car has an astonishing 38,000 kms on the odometer. Unfortunately, it is possible for the odometer to have rolled over once, because there is 5 digits, but it is possible to be that low based on the condition of the car. The car is awesomely 80’s with the shift lever boot, interior design and all of the typical body mouldings found on the car – a total memory machine for a lot of people. The trunk has perfect carpets and a rolling cargo cover that still works. Under the hood is nice but could still use an engine shampoo. They were quick in their day, but don’t expect mind blowing speed. It’s all about the look that Chrysler and Shelby got so right with the Daytona!
