1976 Chevrolet Malibu Classic 2-dr Coupe Low-rider! This car is a real survivor with a few incredible modifications! We get the idea it was an “old lady” car with just how nice the interior of the car is – stock and unchanged and in flawless condition. Now the car is on hydraulics with wire wheels and a killer full glitter and pinstripe paint job! It has a very Southern California flair to it and if you’re part of the Saskatoon car scene, you’ve definitely seen it at a car show or two around here. It’s truly an incredible car. The factory burgundy paint in the door jambs and trunk jambs appears to carry out onto the exterior of the car, but at the threshold it’s now been candied with tons of glitter in the paint, along with an intricate and highly detailed pinstripe motif that also uses gold flake in some portions. The paint is glossy and gorgeous, even to the touch. Orange, red, pink purple and gold are all used in the pinstriping. Everything is clear coated over and very well done. The chrome and stainless trim are also very original and in excellent condition. Completing the look are the Zenith Wire Wheels in gold and chrome with real knock-off center caps (a soft lead hammer is included). The interior is completely stock, but it looks as good as when it left the showroom floor with no wear and tear or flaws. It’s a fairly straightforward car with manual windows and locks, AM radio, basic gauges, basic heater, rear defroster and a front bench seat with fold down arm rest finished in vinyl and cloth. About the only modification is an aftermarket stereo hanging below the dashboard and a small set of switches to the left of the steering wheel for the hydraulic suspension. The trunk has been refinished in POR-15 black coating and now hosts all the hydraulic components, batteries and pumps. It’s neat and tidy and still has a fair amount of storage space. The car isn’t set up to “jump” and bounce the front end off the ground, but it can certainly hop up and down a bit and controls allow the front, or rear, or each corner to be activated to modulate the stance of the car. The system works very well, though it does change the ride of the car from stock. Expect a bit more bounce over bumps in the road. Under the hood it looks completely stock with a 350 V8, power steering and power brakes. Its’ exceptionally nice again under the hood. This car was well preserved for years! If you’re looking for something different, here’s your chance at an exceptionally nice low rider! The car shows 74,000 miles, and that’s believed to be true milage, although with only 5 digits on the odometer, it can’t be proven.
