1954 Mercury Monterey Sun Valley Coupe. Built by Kustom King in Alberta in 1998 for Canadian musical icon and teen idol Bobby Curtola! This car has had an incredible amount of restoration work on it in the last 5 years. More recently it completed the trip from Swift Current to the Radium car show in fall of 2024, driving without issue there and back and since then has been enjoyed tremendously by its current owner, taking him to countless car shows in the Saskatoon area. With the modern touches hidden from view, it appears stock and vintage but drives like new! Under the hood s a true 312E motor from 1957 T-bird. All correct parts (block, heads, crankshaft, cam and rocker arms). Rebuilt by MAX Machine in Swift Current with Colt cams installed from Langley BC. Mechanical details include Rare E.Code dual Holley 17 “tea-pot” carbs and intake manifold, completely rebuilt and refurbished by Rusty the Carb Doctor,  200 R4  4-speed overdrive transmission, recently rebuilt with Bendtsen Transmission adapter,  Borgenson Power steering conversion from summit racing, 4-wheel disc brake conversion, Ford 9” rear end, 1966 Ford Wheels, Ididit steering column, Billet specialties classic steering wheel with mercury emblem machined and embedded, Lokar floor shifter and indicator, Dakota digital dash gauges, New radio and speakers -vintage Mercury, New correct Electric clock, New Kwik Wire fuse block and complete wiring harness, New seal on glass top, Complete new interior by New Look Upholstery, Swift Current. The car is sensational inside and out and it’s a pleasure to drive. Quite rare to see a mercury, especially this nice and with the glass roof! You get the best of both worlds with this one looking mostly stock with a great continental kit on the back, along with tasteful mechanical upgrades to have it more than keep up with modern traffic! 10,000 miles on the car since the rebuilt 312 went into service, so it’s a proven driver!
